P. Rizzo, President & CEO

David Rizzo is President & CEO of NC IDEA. David joined MCNC in 2002 and led the company through a restructuring that resulted in the spin-off of MCNC Research & Development Institute (now NC IDEA). Prior to joining MCNC, David was the Chairman and CEO of Osprey Systems, a venture-backed software services company he founded in Charlotte in 1992 and sold in 2002. David spent the first 13 years of his career with IBM in various leadership positions, ultimately serving as the Trading Area General Manager for the $800M business operations of North and South Carolina. David is an active proponent of North Carolina’s entrepreneurial community and has served on the boards of several key organizations such as the CED, the Kenan Institute Center for Entrepreneurship, and as a past chairman of NCTA. David has a B.A. from William and Mary and has studied at the Wharton School’s Financial Services Institute and the Brookings Public Policy Institute.

Cambier, Sr. Vice President and CFO

John Cambier is Sr. Vice President and CFO of NC IDEA, holding responsibilities for finance, accounting and treasury functions, in addition to deal sourcing, business plan review, and leading and assisting investment due diligence efforts John started with MCNC in 1994 and has held positions in technology transfer, contracts administration, business development and finance, contributing to the spin-off of four companies and leading the sale of three business units during that time, including the formation and ultimate sale of Cronos Integrated Microsystems to JDS Uniphase for $665M in 2000. John has a B.A. from Michigan State University and his M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Merrette
Moore, Vice President

Merrette Moore is Vice President of NC IDEA, holding responsibilities that include deal sourcing, business plan review, and leading and assisting investment due diligence efforts. Merrette joined MCNC in 2002 to assist with the organizational and financial aspects of the MCNC reorganization, including the formation of MCNC Ventures/NC IDEA. Merrette has a wide-ranging background in finance, having held positions in commercial banking, investment banking, portfolio management and private equity with Wachovia, Fairview Capital, Franklin Street Partners and Lloyd & Company. Lister
Delgado, Vice President

Lister Delgado is Vice President of NC IDEA, holding responsibilities that include deal sourcing, business plan review, and leading and assisting investment due diligence efforts. Lister joined NC IDEA in 2003 after working as a consultant to several technology startups and having worked as a venture associate with the First Flight Fund. Lister initially spent five year as an engineer in the telecommunications field in both software and hardware design. (more)
Lister has a B.S. from Brown University, an M.S. from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Angela deJong serves as the Office Manager for NC IDEA. Angela brings more than 15 years of knowledge and a diverse background in accounting, finance and human resources.

She has extensive experience assisting small companies with their start-up operations. She previously held the position of Office Manager for civil and environmental engineering firms and several other small companies.
