February 22 - Spring 2010 Cycle Opens
Applicants for grants can submit pre-proposals online. The first step in submitting a pre-proposal is to register and obtain a login & password. Once registration opens you may access the online application.
March 19 - Pre-proposal Submission Deadline
All pre-proposals must be submitted online by Friday 5:00 PM.
March 22 through April 16
Applicant program managers or their representatives must be available, either in person or via conference call, to answer any questions NC IDEA may have regarding their pre-proposal application. Not all applicants will be contacted.
April 19 - Full Proposal Invitations
Selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals. The full proposals will be up to 10 pages in length and provide further details on the project and its commercial potential.
May 7 - Full Proposal Submission Deadline
All full proposals must be submitted online by Friday 5:00 PM.
May 10 through May 28 - Finalist Notification
Applicants submitting full proposals will be notified whether they have been invited to present to the expert panel.
June 3 - Finalist Presentations
Finalists present to the NC IDEA panel of experts. Presentations are 10 minutes in length followed by a 15 minute question and answer period. Up to 10 applicants may be selected to present.
Mid-July - Notification of Grant Recipients

August - Full Fall 2010 schedule will be posted

Grants
Register as a user to get email updates about the NC IDEA grants program. The Fall 2009 cycle is closed . The Spring 2010 cycle opens Monday, February 22, 2010.
Application Suggestions
Read the application early & submit your application early. We recommend you not wait until the last minute to submit your application. Applications must be submitted online. The last day is always the busiest and online application submission may be running slow. NC IDEA will not consider applications submitted after the deadline.
